French Dip Squares
These French Dip Squares are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main dish that brings the classic flavors of a French dip sandwich into a fun, shareable form. Here’s how to make them!
Ingredients
1 package (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls
1 pound thinly sliced roast beef
8 slices provolone cheese
2 cups beef broth
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the Crescent Rolls:
Unroll the crescent rolls and separate them into triangles. Place the triangles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, arranging them so that the points are facing inward and the bases are overlapping slightly to form a rectangle.
Layer the Ingredients:
Layer the roast beef evenly over the crescent rolls.
Place the provolone cheese slices on top of the roast beef.
Fold the Rolls:
Fold the points of the crescent rolls over the top of the cheese and beef, creating a pocket or enclosure. You may need to pinch the seams to seal them.
Brush with Butter:
Brush the melted butter over the top of the dough.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown.
Prepare the Dipping Sauce:
While the squares are baking, combine the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until warm.
Serve:
Once baked, remove the squares from the oven and let them cool slightly. Cut into squares and serve warm with the dipping sauce on the side.
Tips
Customize: Feel free to add sautéed onions or peppers for extra flavor.
Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheated in the oven or microwave.
Make-Ahead: You can prepare the filling in advance and assemble the squares before baking them to save time.
