Honey Bourbon BBQ Beef Short Ribs: Perfect

Honey Bourbon BBQ Beef Short Ribs: Perfect Fall-Off-Bone Tender Recipe (Alcohol-Free!)

Fall is here, and what better way to celebrate than with incredibly tender, melt-in-your-mouth beef short ribs? This recipe is easy enough for a cozy weeknight and delicious enough for a special occasion. And best of all, it’s alcohol-free!

Ingredients:

2 lbs beef short ribs

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions:

Sear the ribs: Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Season short ribs generously with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear short ribs on all sides until nicely browned (about 2-3 minutes per side). Remove ribs and set aside.

  1. Sauté the aromatics: Add chopped onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  2. Combine the sauce: Stir in beef broth, honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, and cumin. Bring to a simmer.
  3. Braising time: Return the short ribs to the pot, ensuring they are mostly submerged in the liquid. Cover the pot tightly and transfer to the preheated oven. Braise for 2-3 hours, or until the meat is incredibly tender and easily falls off the bone. You can check for doneness by gently poking with a fork.
  4. Serve and enjoy: Once cooked, remove the short ribs from the pot and let them rest for a few minutes. Skim off any excess fat from the sauce. You can either serve the ribs directly with the sauce spooned over, or shred the meat and serve it over mashed potatoes or rice.

This recipe is perfect for a comforting fall meal. It’s easy to prepare and even easier to enjoy! Let me know if you try it and how it turns out! #beefshortribs #fallrecipes #seniorfriendlyrecipes #easyrecipe #comfortfood

Tip: For extra flavor, consider adding a bay leaf to the braising liquid. Remember to remove it before serving! .
