🥗 Homemade Italian Dressing (Classic)
Ingredients
½ cup olive oil
3 Tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp honey (or sugar)
1 clove garlic, finely minced (or ½ tsp garlic powder)
1 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp dried basil
½ tsp dried parsley
¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt + black pepper, to taste
Optional: 2 Tbsp grated parmesan (makes it slightly creamy)
How to Make It
Add everything except the olive oil to a jar or bowl.
Whisk (or shake in a jar) to combine.
Slowly stream in the olive oil while whisking until it emulsifies.
Taste and tweak: more vinegar = tangier, more honey = sweeter, more salt = bolder.
Pro Tips
Let it sit 10–15 minutes before using — the flavors wake up 👀
Keeps in the fridge ~1 week (shake before using).
Great on salads, grilled chicken, roasted veggies, or as a marinade.
🔥 3 Flavor Upgrades (Pick Your Vibe)
Zesty Lemon Italian
Swap half the vinegar for fresh lemon juice
Add lemon zest
Creamy Italian
Add 2 Tbsp mayo or Greek yogurt
Extra parmesan = chef’s kiss
Spicy Italian
Extra red pepper flakes
A splash of hot sauce
If you tell me what you usually put Italian dressing on (salads, chicken, subs, pasta salad), I can tweak this recipe perfectly for that 👌
