🥐 Beef & Cheese Puff Pastry Roll (Serves 4–6)
🛒 Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
250–300 g (½–⅔ lb) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
1–2 tbsp oil
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Optional extras: chopped parsley, chili flakes, ketchup or BBQ sauce
👩🍳 How to Make It
Cook the beef filling
Heat oil in a pan. Sauté onion until soft, add garlic, then add ground beef. Cook until browned. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper. Let it cool slightly.
Prep the pastry
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
Fill & roll
Spread the beef mixture evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border. Sprinkle cheese on top. Roll tightly into a log.
Slice & glaze
Cut into 1–2 inch (2–4 cm) pieces or leave as one long roll. Place on a lined baking tray. Brush with beaten egg for that golden shine ✨
Bake
Bake at 200°C / 400°F for 18–25 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
Serve
Let cool for a few minutes, then enjoy! Great with ketchup, garlic sauce, or a simple yogurt dip.
🔥 Tasty Variations
Spicy kick: Add chili flakes or a spoon of hot sauce to the beef.
Veg boost: Mix in finely chopped bell peppers or mushrooms.
