Makes: 8–10 pockets

Ingredients
1 box puff pastry (2 sheets), thawed
250–300g (½–¾ lb) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
2–3 tbsp chopped green onions (or spring onions)
Salt & pepper to taste
½ tsp paprika (optional)
½ tsp cumin or Italian seasoning (optional)
1 egg + 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)
Oil for cooking
Instructions
Cook the filling
Heat a little oil in a pan. Sauté onion until soft.
Add garlic and beef, cook until browned.
Season with salt, pepper, and spices. Let cool slightly.
Prep the pastry
Roll out puff pastry and cut each sheet into 4–5 rectangles.
Fill
Spoon beef mixture onto one side of each piece.
Top with shredded cheese + green onions.
Seal
Fold over into pockets.
Press edges with a fork to seal.
Egg wash
Brush tops with egg + milk for that golden finish ✨
Bake
Bake at 200°C / 400°F for 18–22 minutes, until puffed and deep golden brown.
