Sticky Honey Garlic Chicken (Potluck Favorite)
Ingredients
1½–2 lb (700–900 g) chicken thighs or wings
½ cup honey
⅓ cup soy sauce
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tsp water (optional, to thicken)
Sesame seeds & chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
Mix the sauce: In a bowl combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, ketchup, brown sugar, and vinegar.
Add chicken: Place chicken in the baking dish and pour the sauce over it.
Bake for 35–45 minutes, turning once halfway so the chicken gets coated.
Thicken the sauce (optional):
Remove chicken and pour sauce into a small pan.
Add cornstarch mixed with water and simmer until thick and sticky.
Coat & serve: Pour the thick sauce back over the chicken and sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions on top.
Tips
Works great with meatballs or ribs instead of chicken.
Serve over rice to soak up the sticky sauce.
For extra caramelization, broil for 3–5 minutes at the end.
