¼ cup sugar
¼ cup melted butter
1 egg
3 to 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
Extra melted butter for brushing
👨🍳 Instructions
Activate the yeast
In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Mix the dough
Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms.
Knead
Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
First rise
Place dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled.
Shape the rolls
Divide dough into 12–15 pieces, shape into balls, and place in a greased baking dish.
Second rise
Cover and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
Bake
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
Butter finish
Brush the hot rolls with melted butter and serve warm with fresh butter.
✅ Tip: For extra softness, place a small pan of hot water in the oven while baking.
