🍚 Old-Fashioned Creamy Rice Pudding
📝 Ingredients
1 cup cooked white rice
2 cups whole milk
1/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1 egg, beaten (for extra creaminess)
👩🍳 Instructions
Combine ingredients
In a saucepan, add cooked rice, milk, sugar, butter, and salt.
Cook slowly
Heat over medium-low heat, stirring often, until the mixture thickens (about 15–20 minutes).
Add egg for creaminess
Slowly stir a little hot pudding into the beaten egg to warm it, then pour the egg mixture back into the pot while stirring constantly.
Finish the pudding
Cook for another 2–3 minutes until creamy. Stir in vanilla, cinnamon, and raisins if using.
Serve
Spoon into bowls and sprinkle a little extra cinnamon on top. It can be eaten warm or chilled.
✅ Tip: For an even richer taste, replace ½ cup of the milk with heavy cream.
