Honey Garlic Chicken with Mushrooms recipe 🍯🍗🍄
📝 Ingredients
500 g chicken breast (or thighs), cut into bite-sized pieces
200 g mushrooms, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp honey
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional but adds great flavor)
1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
1 tbsp cornstarch
3 tbsp water
2 tbsp oil (for cooking)
Salt & black pepper to taste
Optional: chopped parsley or green onions for garnish
👨‍🍳 Instructions
Prepare the sauce
In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and vinegar. Set aside.
Coat the chicken
Lightly season chicken with salt and pepper, then toss with cornstarch.
Cook the chicken
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
Add chicken and cook until golden and cooked through (about 5–7 minutes).
Remove and set aside.
Cook mushrooms & garlic
In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed.
Sauté mushrooms until soft and browned.
Add garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Combine everything
Return chicken to the pan.
Pour in the sauce and stir well.
Thicken the sauce
Add water and simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything nicely.
Serve
Garnish with parsley or green onions. Serve hot with rice or noodles.
💡 Tips
Add a little chili flakes if you like it spicy 🌶️
Use dark soy sauce for a richer color
Works great with beef or shrimp too
