2 eggs
1/2 cup warm water

  1. Activate the yeast
    In a bowl, mix warm water + 1 tbsp sugar + yeast.
    Let sit 5โ€“10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix the dough
    In a large bowl, combine:
    Flour
    Remaining sugar
    Salt
    Add:
    Yeast mixture
    Warm milk
    Melted butter
    Eggs
    Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead
    Knead on a floured surface for about 8โ€“10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. First rise
    Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1โ€“1.5 hours (until doubled).
  5. Shape loaves
    Punch down dough and divide into 2 equal parts.

    Cover and let rise again for 30โ€“45 minutes.
