π₯¬ Stuffed Cabbage Rolls Recipe
π Ingredients
1 large green cabbage
500 g ground beef (or beef + rice mix)
1 cup cooked rice
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 egg
Salt & pepper (to taste)
1 tsp paprika (optional)
2 cups tomato sauce
1 tbsp olive oil
π©βπ³ Instructions
- Prepare the cabbage
Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
Place the whole cabbage inside and cook for 5β10 minutes.
Remove and carefully peel off the softened leaves. - Make the filling
In a bowl, mix:
ground meat
cooked rice
onion
garlic
egg
salt, pepper, paprika
Mix until well combined. - Roll them up
Take a cabbage leaf, add a spoonful of filling near the base.
Fold sides inward and roll tightly like a burrito. - Cook
Place rolls seam-side down in a pot or baking dish.
Pour tomato sauce over them.
Cover and simmer on low heat for 40β50 minutes
(or bake at 180Β°C for about 1 hour).
π½οΈ Tips
Add a bit of sugar to the tomato sauce if itβs too acidic.
You can mix beef with lamb for extra flavor.
Serve with bread or mashed potatoes.
