🥘 Tangy Cabbage & Ground Beef Dutch Oven Supper
🛒 Ingredients
500 g ground beef
1 medium head cabbage, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt & pepper to taste
🥣 Tangy Mixture
1 cup tomato sauce
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon mustard (Dijon or yellow)
👩‍🍳 Instructions
Brown the beef
In a Dutch oven over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
Add aromatics
Stir in chopped onion and garlic. Cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
Add cabbage
Toss in the chopped cabbage. Season with salt and pepper, and stir to combine.
Mix the tangy sauce
In a bowl, whisk together tomato sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and mustard.
Pour & simmer
Pour the tangy mixture over the cabbage and beef. Stir well, cover, and let simmer on low heat for 25–30 minutes, until cabbage is tender.
Serve hot
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve as-is or with bread or rice.
💡 Tips
Add cooked rice for a “stuffed cabbage” style meal.
A pinch of paprika or chili flakes gives it extra warmth.
It tastes even better the next day!
