The picture shows beautifully sliced cooked beets 🍠❤️. Here’s a simple recipe to make them just like that:
Simple Boiled Beets Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 medium fresh beets
- 1–2 tablespoons olive oil (optional)
- 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice (optional, for flavor)
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Wash the beets
Rinse thoroughly under cold water to remove dirt. Do not peel yet (peeling after cooking is easier). - Boil the beets
- Place whole beets in a large pot and cover with water.
- Add 1 teaspoon of salt.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
- Cook until tender when pierced with a fork (30–45 minutes depending on size).
- Cool & Peel
- Drain and let them cool slightly.
- Rub the skins off with your hands or a paper towel (they should slip off easily).
- Slice & Serve
- Cut into thin rounds like in the photo.
- Arrange in a bowl.
- Drizzle with olive oil, vinegar or lemon juice, sprinkle salt and pepper.
✨ Optional flavor upgrades:
- Fresh dill or parsley on top
- A drizzle of balsamic glaze
- Crumbled feta or goat cheese
- Walnuts for crunch
Would you like me to also give you a pickled beet version (sweet & tangy, lasts longer in jars), or just keep it simple boiled like the picture?
