🍽️ Fried Pork Chops with Bacon Gravy (Classic Comfort Food)
Crispy, juicy pork chops smothered in rich bacon gravy—this is old-school comfort at its best. Perfect with mashed potatoes, biscuits, or rice.
🛒 Ingredients
For the Pork Chops
4 bone-in pork chops (about ¾–1 inch thick)
Salt & black pepper, to taste
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tbsp oil (vegetable or canola)
2 tbsp butter
For the Bacon Gravy
6 slices bacon, chopped
2 tbsp bacon grease (from the pan)
2 tbsp flour
1½–2 cups milk (whole milk is best)
Salt & black pepper, to taste
Optional: pinch of cayenne or black pepper for heat
👩‍🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Season & Dredge
Pat pork chops dry. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Dredge lightly in flour, shaking off excess.
2️⃣ Fry the Pork Chops
Heat oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add pork chops and fry 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
Remove and keep warm.
3️⃣ Cook the Bacon
In the same skillet, add chopped bacon.
Cook until crispy. Remove bacon bits and set aside, leaving the grease in the pan.
4️⃣ Make the Bacon Gravy
Add 2 tbsp flour to the bacon grease. Stir constantly for 1 minute.
Slowly whisk in milk, scraping up the browned bits.
Simmer until thick and creamy. Season with salt & pepper.
5️⃣ Finish & Serve
Stir crispy bacon back into the gravy.
Pour gravy generously over pork chops and serve hot.
⭐ Serving Ideas
Mashed potatoes
Buttermilk biscuits
White rice
Green beans or corn
🔥 Pro Tips
Don’t overcrowd the pan—fry in batches if needed.
For extra crispy chops, let dredged pork rest 5 minutes before frying.
Gravy too thick? Add a splash of milk. Too thin? Simmer longer.
