Ingredients
Chicken
500 g (1 lb) boneless chicken (thighs or breasts), bite-size
1/2 cup cornstarch (or flour)
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt & pepper
Oil for frying (or air-frying)
Sauce
3 tbsp honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp ketchup (or chili sauce if you want a tiny kick)
1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp grated ginger (optional but 🔥)
1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (to thicken)
Finish
Sesame seeds
Chopped green onions
How to Make It
Coat the chicken
Toss chicken with cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until well coated.
Cook till crispy
Pan-fry: Shallow fry in hot oil 2–3 min per side until golden and cooked through.
Air fryer: 200°C / 400°F for 10–12 min, shake halfway.
Oven: 220°C / 425°F for 18–20 min, flip once.
Make the sauce
Simmer honey, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, garlic, and ginger for 2–3 minutes.
Stir in cornstarch slurry; cook till glossy and slightly thick.
Toss & finish
Add crispy chicken to the pan, toss to coat.
Sprinkle sesame seeds + green onions.
