🍯 Crispy Sweet Soy Tempeh (Tempeh Goreng Kecap)
You’ll need:
Tempeh (sliced)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
2 tbsp sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sugar or honey
Pinch of pepper
Oil
How:
Pan-fry tempeh slices in oil until golden and crispy. Set aside.
In the same pan, sauté garlic till fragrant.
Add sweet soy, soy sauce, sugar/honey + a splash of water.
Toss tempeh back in. Let it glaze for 1–2 minutes.
Serve with rice + chili sauce. 🔥
🌶️ Spicy Tempeh Crumbles (Tempeh Orek Pedas)
You’ll need:
Tempeh (thinly sliced or crumbled)
Onion + garlic
Chili (fresh or chili flakes)
Soy sauce
Sweet soy sauce
Oil
How:
Fry tempeh until crispy, remove.
Sauté onion, garlic, chili.
Add soy + sweet soy.
Return tempeh, toss until sticky-crispy.
Great as a rice topper or inside wraps.
🍋 Simple Air-Fryer / Oven Tempeh (Healthy-ish)
Marinade:
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp lemon or vinegar
Garlic powder + pepper
How:
Slice tempeh, marinate 10–20 min.
Air-fry 180°C / 350°F for 10–12 min
or bake 200°C / 400°F for ~20 min (flip halfway).
Dip in chili sauce or peanut sauce 😋
🥜 Peanut Sauce Tempeh (Satay-Style)
Quick peanut sauce:
Peanut butter
Soy sauce
Lime juice
Brown sugar
Chili (optional)
Warm water to thin
