Perfect Hard-Boiled Eggs (No Green Ring)
Ingredients:
6 large eggs
Water
Ice
Instructions:
Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan. Cover with cold water, about 1 inch above the eggs.
Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.
Once boiling, cover the pan and remove from heat. Let the eggs sit:
6 minutes for slightly soft yolk
9 minutes for fully set yolk
Immediately transfer eggs to an ice bath for 5–10 minutes. This stops cooking and prevents the green ring.
Peel and enjoy!
Tip: Adding a pinch of salt or vinegar to the water can make peeling easier.
If you want, I can also give you a recipe that actually uses those green-ring eggs so they turn into a tasty dish instead of just eating them plain. It’s surprisingly good! Do you want me to do that?
