🥬 Slow Cooker Cabbage & Noodles (Cozy One-Pot)
Ingredients
½ head green cabbage, sliced
8 oz egg noodles (or any short pasta)
1 small onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups vegetable or chicken broth
2 tbsp butter or olive oil
1 tsp salt (to taste)
½ tsp black pepper
Optional add-ins:
Smoked sausage, kielbasa, or bacon bits
Carrots or bell peppers
Paprika, garlic powder, or Italian seasoning
A splash of soy sauce for savory depth
How to Make It (Slow Cooker)
Layer it in: Add cabbage, onion, garlic, butter/oil, broth, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker.
Cook:
Low: 4–5 hours
High: 2–3 hours
(Cabbage should be tender.)
Add noodles at the end: Stir in noodles during the last 30–40 minutes on High (or ~45–60 min on Low).
Check texture: Stir once or twice so noodles don’t clump. Add a little more broth if it looks dry.
Taste + tweak: Adjust salt, pepper, and spices. Add protein if you’re using any.
Quick Flavor Upgrades
Buttery garlic: Add 1 extra tbsp butter + pinch of garlic powder at the end
Comfort food vibes: Sprinkle grated Parmesan when serving
Smoky: Toss in sliced smoked sausage at the start
Tangy: A tiny splash of apple cider vinegar right before serving
Tips (so it doesn’t go mushy)
Don’t add noodles too early—they overcook fast in slow cookers.
If you like firmer noodles, cook them separately and stir in right before serving.
