🛒 Ingredients
3–4 large onions, thinly sliced
4 tablespoons butter, sliced into pats
1 to 1½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Swiss)
Salt & black pepper (optional but recommended)
👩🍳 Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Lightly grease a small baking dish.
Layer half the onions evenly in the dish.
Dot with half the butter and sprinkle with half the cheese.
Repeat with remaining onions, butter, and cheese.
Season lightly with salt and pepper.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
