🥐 Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Pockets
These flaky, buttery pockets are super easy and perfect for snacks, breakfast, or a quick dinner.
🧾 Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
120–150 g sliced ham
120–150 g cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Swiss), sliced or shredded
1 egg (for egg wash)
1 tbsp milk (optional, for egg wash)
1 tsp mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
Black pepper (optional)
👨🍳 Instructions
Preheat oven
Set your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Prepare pastry
Roll out the puff pastry slightly and cut into 4–6 rectangles.
Add filling
On one half of each rectangle:
Layer ham
Add cheese
Spread a little mustard (optional)
Sprinkle black pepper if you like
Seal pockets
Fold the pastry over the filling to form a pocket.
Press edges with a fork to seal tightly.
Egg wash
Beat the egg with milk and brush over each pocket for a golden finish.
Bake
Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
Cool & serve
Let cool slightly (cheese is hot!) and enjoy.

Use turkey or chicken instead of ham
Sprinkle sesame seeds or herbs on top before baking
