🥩 Papaya Meat Tenderizer Recipe
Ingredients
2–3 tablespoons fresh green papaya (peeled & grated or blended)
500 g meat (beef, lamb, or chicken)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 cloves garlic (optional)
1 tablespoon oil or lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the papaya
Peel a small piece of unripe papaya.
Grate or blend it into a paste.
Marinate the meat
Rub the papaya paste evenly over the meat.
Add salt, pepper, garlic, and oil/lemon if using.
Let it sit
For tough meats: 30–60 minutes
For chicken: 20–30 minutes
Cook as desired
Grill, fry, or cook in a stew.
⚠️ Important Tips
Don’t over-marinate (too much can make meat mushy).
Use small amounts only—the enzyme is very strong.
Wash hands after handling raw papaya sap (it can irritate skin).
