Brown Sugar Pork Chops

🍖 Brown Sugar Pork Chops
🛒 Ingredients
4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
4 tbsp brown sugar
4 tbsp butter
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp garlic powder (or 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced)
1/2 tsp black pepper
Optional: pinch of paprika or chili flakes for a slight kick
👨‍🍳 Instructions
Prep the chops
Pat pork chops dry with paper towels. Season lightly with pepper and garlic powder.
Sear for flavor
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tbsp butter.
Add pork chops and sear for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
Make the sauce
Lower heat to medium. Add remaining butter, brown sugar, and soy sauce.
Stir gently as it melts into a thick, bubbling sauce.
Caramelize
Spoon the sauce over the pork chops continuously for 3–5 minutes.
The sauce will thicken and coat the chops with a glossy, caramelized glaze.
Finish & serve
Remove from heat once chops are fully cooked (internal temp ~63°C / 145°F).
Let rest for a couple of minutes, then serve with extra sauce drizzled on top.
🍽️ Serving Ideas
Mashed potatoes or rice (to soak up the sauce)
Steamed vegetables or roasted carrots
Fresh bread for extra indulgence
💡 Tips
Don’t overcook—pork chops stay juicier with a slight blush inside.
If sauce thickens too much, add a splash of water to loosen it.
Works great with chicken too if you want a variation.
