4-Ingredient Melt-in-Your-Mouth Spring Pot Roast
A simple comfort meal with tender beef, rich gravy, and almost no prep.
Ingredients
1.5–2 kg beef chuck roast
1 packet onion soup mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup beef broth
Optional for serving
Mashed potatoes
Rice or buttered noodles
Carrots or green beans
Instructions
Place the beef roast in a slow cooker or Dutch oven.
In a bowl, mix the onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, and beef broth.
Pour the mixture over the roast.
Cover and cook:
Slow cooker: Low for 8–9 hours or High for 5–6 hours
Oven: 160°C (325°F) for about 3–3½ hours
When the meat easily pulls apart with a fork, it’s ready.
Spoon the rich gravy over the meat and serve warm.
Easy Spring Twist
Add baby potatoes and carrots during the last 2 hours of cooking for a full one-pot dinner.
Tips
Chuck roast works best because it becomes extra tender while slow cooking.
