Best Steak Marinade in Existence
A bold, savory marinade that makes steak juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Great for ribeye, sirloin, flank steak, or NY strip.
Ingredients
2 lbs (900 g) steak
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup olive oil
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp dried rosemary or Italian seasoning
Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes
Instructions
In a bowl or zip-top bag, whisk together all marinade ingredients.
Add steak and coat well.
Marinate:
Minimum: 1 hour
Best flavor: 4–8 hours
Avoid over-marinating thin cuts overnight.
Remove steak from marinade and let sit at room temperature for 20–30 minutes before cooking.
Grill or pan-sear over high heat:
Rare: 125°F / 52°C
Medium-rare: 135°F / 57°C
Medium: 145°F / 63°C
Rest steak 5–10 minutes before slicing.
Tips
Pat steak dry before cooking for a better crust.
Add a tablespoon of butter while cooking for extra richness.
