Brown Sugar Chops (Sweet, Buttery & Caramelized)
A simple, rich dinner with juicy pork chops and a glossy brown sugar glaze.
Ingredients (serves 4):
4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless, about 2 cm / ¾ inch thick)
4 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp butter, melted
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
Optional: pinch of cayenne for heat
Optional garnish: chopped parsley
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Lightly grease a baking dish.
Season the chops:
Pat pork chops dry. Rub both sides with olive oil, then season with garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Make the glaze:
Mix melted butter and brown sugar until combined.
Coat:
Place chops in the baking dish and spoon the brown sugar butter mixture over each chop.
Bake:
Cook uncovered for 20–25 minutes (depending on thickness), until the pork is cooked through.
Caramelize:
Switch to broil/grill for 2–3 minutes at the end for a deeper golden glaze—watch closely so the sugar doesn’t burn.
Rest & serve:
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
