Crispy Garlic Herb Potato Patties

Crispy Garlic Herb Potato Patties
Serves: 4–6
Time: ~35 minutes
🥔 Ingredients
4 medium potatoes (Yukon gold or russet work great)
2 tbsp butter (melted)
2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp fresh parsley (or dried herbs: parsley + oregano/thyme)
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp black pepper
¾ tsp salt (to taste)
Optional extras:
¼ cup grated parmesan
Pinch of chili flakes
Onion powder or garlic powder
🔥 Instructions
Boil the potatoes
Peel and cut potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water until fork-tender (about 12–15 min). Drain and let steam dry for 2 minutes.
Mash & season
Mash potatoes (leave a little texture if you like). Mix in butter, garlic, herbs, salt, pepper, paprika, and parmesan (if using).
Shape the patties
Scoop about 2–3 tbsp of mixture and form thick little patties.
Pan-fry to crispy perfection
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
Fry patties 3–4 minutes per side until deeply golden and crispy.
Finish & serve
Sprinkle extra herbs on top. Serve hot!
🔥 Pro Tips
Extra crispy hack: After shaping, chill patties in the fridge for 15 minutes before frying.
Cheesy version: Stuff a tiny cube of mozzarella in the center of each patty.
Oven option: Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20–25 min, flipping once (brush with oil first).
🍽️ Serve With
Sour cream or garlic yogurt dip
Sweet chili sauce
As a side for chicken, fish, or burgers
Or straight off the pan (no shame 😌)
