🥣 Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar works best, but any melting cheese is fine)
1 cup milk
¼ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
2 eggs
👩‍🍳 Instructions
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease or line a loaf pan.
In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Stir in the shredded cheese so it’s evenly coated with flour.
In another bowl, whisk wet ingredients: milk, oil (or butter), and eggs.
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined
(don’t overmix—this keeps the bread soft).
Pour batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
Let it cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.
💡 Tips
Add chopped herbs (parsley, thyme) or olives for extra flavor
Sprinkle extra cheese on top before baking for a crispy crust
Great served with butter, eggs, or tea in the morning
