Here’s a simple, rustic 4-ingredient feast inspired by what your grandfather might have made. It’s hearty, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
Ingredients:
4 boneless chicken thighs (or chicken drumsticks)
4 medium potatoes, chopped into chunks
1 cup heavy cream (or whole milk if you prefer lighter)
1 teaspoon salt + ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
Preheat Oven: Set oven to 400°F (200°C).
Prep Chicken & Potatoes: Place the chicken and chopped potatoes in a baking dish. Season generously with salt and pepper.
Add Cream: Pour the heavy cream over the chicken and potatoes. Make sure it covers the bottom so the potatoes absorb some of it.
Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 35–40 minutes. Remove the foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until chicken is golden and potatoes are tender.
Serve: Scoop onto plates and drizzle a little of the creamy pan juices over the top.
Optional tweak: Add garlic or rosemary if you want a bit more flavor, but it’s delicious as-is—simple and rustic, just like your grandfather’s.
