💙 Blue Velvet Cake
🧾 Ingredients
For the cake:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 ½ cups vegetable oil
1 cup buttermilk (room temperature)
2 large eggs (room temperature)
2 tbsp blue food coloring (gel works best)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp white vinegar
For the cream cheese frosting:
450 g cream cheese (softened)
1 cup (225 g) butter (softened)
3–4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract

- Prep
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F)
Grease and flour 2–3 cake pans - Mix dry ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together: flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder - Mix wet ingredients
In another bowl, combine: oil, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, vinegar, and blue food coloring - Combine
Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients
Stir until smooth (don’t overmix) - Bake
Divide batter into pans
Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean
Let cakes cool completely
🎂 Frosting
Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth
Add vanilla
Gradually mix in powdered sugar until fluffy
✨ Assemble
Place one cake layer, spread frosting
Add next layer and repeat
Frost the whole cake
Decorate with crumbs, sprinkles, or a drip if you like 💙
