🧂 Ingredients
Chicken:
1 kg chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, wings)
1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp lemon juice)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika (optional)
Coating:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp chili powder (optional)
1 tsp baking powder (for extra crispiness)
For spray:
Oil spray (sunflower or olive oil)
🔥 Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken
    Mix chicken with buttermilk, salt, pepper, and paprika.
    Cover and refrigerate for 2–12 hours (longer = juicier).
  2. Prepare coating
    In a bowl, mix all flour + seasoning ingredients.
  3. Coat the chicken
    Remove chicken from marinade (don’t wipe it dry).
    Dredge each piece in the flour mix.
    For extra crunch: dip back into buttermilk → flour again.
  4. Preheat air fryer
    Set to 190°C (375°F) for 3–5 minutes.
  5. Air fry
    Lightly spray chicken with oil.
    Cook at 190°C for 25–30 minutes
    Flip halfway and spray again lightly.
  6. Check doneness
    Chicken should be golden and reach 74°C internal temperature.
    🍽️ Tips for KFC-style crunch
    Double coating = extra crispy
    Don’t overcrowd air fryer basket
    Let chicken rest 5 minutes before eating (crispier crust)
