4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
2 1/4 tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
1 cup warm milk (not hot)
1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
2 eggs
1/2 cup warm water

- Activate the yeast
In a bowl, mix warm water + 1 tbsp sugar + yeast.
Let sit 5β10 minutes until foamy. - Mix the dough
In a large bowl, combine:
Flour
Remaining sugar
Salt
Add:
Yeast mixture
Warm milk
Melted butter
Eggs
Mix until a soft dough forms. - Knead
Knead on a floured surface for about 8β10 minutes until smooth and elastic. - First rise
Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1β1.5 hours (until doubled). - Shape loaves
Punch down dough and divide into 2 equal parts.
Shape into loaves and place in greased loaf pans. - Second rise
Cover and let rise again for 30β45 minutes. - Bake
Bake at 180Β°C (350Β°F) for 25β30 minutes until golden brown. - Cool & serve
Let cool slightly, slice, and enjoy! Perfect with butter, jam, or honey.
