No-Oven Stovetop Bread recipe you can make right on your stove! 🍞
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp baking powder (for fluffiness)
ΒΎ cup milk (or water for a lighter option)
2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
Optional: herbs, garlic powder, or seeds for flavor
Instructions:
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Stir well.
Add Wet Ingredients
Pour in milk and olive oil (or butter). Mix with a spoon until a sticky dough forms.
Knead the Dough
Lightly flour a surface and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Add a bit more flour if it’s too sticky.
Shape the Bread
Divide the dough into 2–4 portions. Flatten each into a thick disc, about ½–¾ inch thick.
Heat the Pan
Use a heavy-bottomed skillet or nonstick pan over low-medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or oil.
Cook the Bread
Place one disc in the pan and cover with a lid. Cook for 5–7 minutes on the first side. Flip and cook another 5–7 minutes. You want a golden-brown crust and cooked-through interior.
Cool & Serve
Let the bread rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm with butter, jam, or use for sandwiches.
βœ… Tips:
Keep the heat moderate to avoid burning the outside before the inside cooks.
You can add garlic, herbs, or cheese to the dough for a flavor boost.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2–3 days; reheat on the stovetop.
