Mix dry ingredients

Mix wet ingredients
In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
Combine gently
Pour wet into dry and mix until just combined.

Heat pan
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly butter it.
Cook pancakes
