Savory One-Pan Cabbage & Ground Meat Skillet 🥬🍳
🥘 Ingredients
1 lb (450g) ground meat (beef, turkey, or chicken)
1 small head cabbage, chopped
1 medium onion, diced
2–3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14 oz / 400g) diced tomatoes (optional but recommended)
2 tbsp tomato paste (optional for richer flavor)
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp cumin (optional)
1 tsp Italian seasoning (or mixed herbs)
Salt & pepper, to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
½ cup (120 ml) broth or water
Optional: chili flakes for heat
👩‍🍳 Instructions
Cook the meat
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground meat, cook until browned. Break it apart as it cooks. Remove excess grease if needed.
Sauté aromatics
Add remaining oil, then onion. Cook 3–4 minutes until soft. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Add cabbage
Toss in chopped cabbage. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it starts to soften.
Season & build flavor
Add paprika, cumin, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
Add tomatoes & liquid
Pour in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and broth/water. Mix everything together.
Simmer
Cover and cook on low heat for 10–15 minutes, until cabbage is tender and flavors meld.
Taste & adjust
Add more salt, pepper, or chili flakes if desired.
