🥔 Grandma’s Simple Hearty Potato & Onion Skillet
🧾 Ingredients
4–5 medium potatoes (peeled & sliced thin)
1 large onion (sliced)
3 tbsp butter (or oil)
Salt & black pepper (to taste)
Optional: garlic powder, paprika, or a handful of cheese
👩🍳 Instructions
Prep everything
Slice potatoes thin so they cook evenly. Slice onions.
Heat the pan
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Cook onions first
Add onions and cook 3–5 minutes until soft and slightly golden.
Add potatoes
Layer potatoes into the pan. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
Cover & cook
Cover with a lid and cook on medium-low for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally so nothing sticks.
Crisp them up
Remove lid, increase heat slightly, and let potatoes get golden and crispy.
Optional finish
Sprinkle cheese on top and let it melt before serving.
