🥔 Ingredients:
4 cups potatoes (peeled & diced thin or sliced)
2 cups cooked ham (cubed)
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 small onion (chopped)
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
2 cups milk
Salt & pepper (to taste)
Optional: garlic powder or paprika for extra flavor
👨‍🍳 Instructions:
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish.
Cook potatoes (optional but recommended):
Boil diced potatoes for about 5–7 minutes until slightly tender, then drain.
Make cheese sauce:
Melt butter in a pan over medium heat.
Add onion and cook until soft.
Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
Cook until thickened, then add 1 cup cheese.
Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
Assemble:
Layer potatoes and ham in the baking dish.
Pour cheese sauce over everything.
Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
Bake:
Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Rest & serve:
Let sit for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Add peas or broccoli for a veggie boost
Use mozzarella for extra stretchiness
For a crispy top, broil 2–3 minutes at the end
