✅ Ingredient:
2 cups heavy cream (full-fat, not ultra-pasteurized if possible for best flavor)
🥣 Instructions:
Pour the cream into a large bowl or food processor (you can also use a jar or hand mixer).
Whip the cream:
First, it turns into whipped cream.
Keep going! After a few more minutes, it will separate into butter and liquid (buttermilk).
Strain the mixture:
Use a sieve or cheesecloth to separate the solid butter from the liquid.
Save the liquid—that’s real buttermilk (great for baking!).
Wash the butter:
Rinse the butter under cold water.
Gently press it to remove any remaining liquid (this helps it last longer).
Optional: Add salt 🧂
Mix in a pinch of salt if you want salted butter.
Shape & store:
Form into a block or ball.
Store in the fridge for up to 1–2 weeks.

Shake method: Put cream in a jar and shake hard for 5–10 minutes (fun but tiring!).

The colder the water when rinsing, the better the texture.
