🥐 Ham & Cheese Puff Pastry Pockets
🛒 Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
100–150 g cooked ham (sliced or chopped)
100–150 g cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Swiss—shredded or sliced)
1 egg (for egg wash)
1 tbsp milk (optional, for egg wash)
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
Black pepper (to taste)
👨🍳 Instructions
Preheat oven
Set your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Prepare pastry
Roll out the puff pastry slightly and cut it into 4–6 rectangles.
Add filling
On one half of each rectangle:
Add ham
Add cheese
Spread a little mustard (optional)
Sprinkle black pepper
Seal pockets
Fold the pastry over to cover the filling.
Press edges with a fork to seal well.
Egg wash
Beat the egg with milk and brush over the tops for a golden finish.
Bake
Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
🔥 Tips
Add herbs like thyme or oregano for extra flavor
You can include tomato slices or caramelized onions
Best served warm when the cheese is gooey 😋
