Slow Cooker Amish Comfort Pot Roast (5 Ingredients)
Ingredients
1.5–2 kg beef chuck roast (or beef shoulder roast)
4–5 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
4 carrots, peeled and cut into large pieces
1 onion, sliced
1 packet onion soup mix
Optional
1 cup beef broth or water (for extra gravy)
Instructions
Place the potatoes, carrots, and sliced onion in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Put the beef roast on top of the vegetables.
Sprinkle the onion soup mix evenly over the roast.
Pour in the beef broth or water if using.
Cover and cook on:
Low: 8–10 hours
High: 5–6 hours
When done, the meat should be very tender and fall apart easily with a fork.
Serving Tip
Serve with the soft vegetables and spoon the rich juices over everything for a cozy, old-fashioned dinner.
