🦀🍤 Seafood Lovers’ Dream: Gourmet Cassolette
📝 Ingredients (serves 4)
200 g shrimp (peeled & deveined)
200 g crab meat (or imitation crab)
150 g scallops (optional but delicious)
1 small onion (finely chopped)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
200 g mushrooms (sliced)
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp flour
250 ml milk
100 ml heavy cream
50 ml white wine (optional)
50 g grated cheese (Gruyère or mozzarella)
1 tsp Dijon mustard
Salt & pepper to taste
Fresh parsley (chopped)
👨🍳 Instructions
Sauté the seafood
Heat olive oil in a pan.
Add shrimp and scallops, cook 2–3 minutes until just done.
Remove and set aside.
Cook the base
In the same pan, melt butter.
Add onion, garlic, and mushrooms.
Cook until soft and fragrant.
Make the sauce
Sprinkle in flour, stir for 1 minute.
Gradually add milk while stirring to avoid lumps.
Pour in cream and white wine.
Add Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
Combine
Return seafood to the pan.
Add crab meat and gently mix.
Simmer for 3–4 minutes until thick and creamy.
Bake
Transfer mixture into small baking dishes (cassolettes).
Sprinkle cheese on top.
Bake at 180°C for 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Serve
Garnish with fresh parsley.
Serve hot with crusty bread or rice.
💡 Tips
No scallops? Just use more shrimp or fish.
Add a pinch of paprika or chili flakes for a slight kick.
You can prepare ahead and bake just before serving.
