🧾 Ingredients (2 sandwiches)
4 slices of bread (thick-cut works best)
2 tbsp butter (softened)
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
ÂĽ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional for extra flavor)
ÂĽ cup pizza sauce (plus extra for dipping)
12–16 slices pepperoni (or your favorite topping)
1–2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
½ tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
Optional extras: sliced olives, mushrooms, bell peppers
🔥 Instructions
Prep the bread
Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
Build the sandwich
Place 2 slices (butter-side down) in a pan or on a board.
Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each.
Add mozzarella, cheddar, pepperoni, and any extras.
Sprinkle Parmesan + Italian seasoning.
Top with remaining bread slices (butter-side up).
Cook low & slow
Heat a skillet over medium-low heat.
Place sandwiches in the pan and cook for 3–5 minutes per side.
Press gently with a spatula and flip when golden brown.
Melt it perfectly
If cheese isn’t fully melted, cover the pan for 1–2 minutes to trap heat.
Serve
Slice in half and serve hot with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
đź’ˇ Tips
Keep heat medium-low so the bread doesn’t burn before cheese melts.
Use garlic butter instead of plain butter for extra flavor.
Try different cheeses like provolone for a more “pizza shop” taste.
