🥩 Easy 5-Ingredient Oven Chuck Roast
🛒 Ingredients
1.5–2 kg (3–4 lb) chuck roast
1 packet onion soup mix
1 cup beef broth
3–4 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
3 carrots, cut into chunks
👩🍳 Instructions
Preheat oven
Set your oven to 160°C (325°F).
Prepare the dish
Place the chuck roast in a large baking dish or roasting pan.
Add vegetables
Arrange the potatoes and carrots around the roast.
Season & pour
Sprinkle the onion soup mix evenly over everything.
Pour the beef broth into the dish (not directly on top so seasoning stays in place).
Cover tightly
Cover with foil or a lid to keep moisture in.
Bake low & slow
Cook for about 3 to 4 hours, until the meat is fork-tender and falling apart.
Serve
Spoon some of the juices over the meat and veggies before serving.
🔥 Tips for Best Flavor
Sear the roast in a hot pan for a few minutes per side before baking (optional but adds depth).
Add a splash of Worcestershire sauce or garlic if you want a little extra punch.
If you like thicker gravy, remove the roast at the end and simmer the juices with a little flour or cornstarch.
