Homemade No-Fail Bread 🍞
Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
1Β½ cups warm water
2ΒΌ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
2 tbsp sugar
1Β½ tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
Instructions
Activate the yeast
In a large bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast.
Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Make the dough
Add oil, salt, and 3 cups of flour.
Mix well.
Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
Knead
Knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
If sticky, sprinkle a little more flour.
First rise
Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl.
Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled.
Shape
Punch down the dough.
Shape into a loaf or rolls.
Place in a greased loaf pan or on a baking tray.
Second rise
Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes.
Bake
Bake at 190Β°C (375Β°F) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
Brush with melted butter for a softer crust.
Cool
Let cool slightly before slicing.

Cheese
Sesame or nigella seeds
Whole wheat flour (replace up to half the flour)
Fresh homemade bread with butter right out of the oven is hard to beat.
