Sticky Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken

Sticky Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken
These sticky, sweet, fall-apart tender chicken bites are perfect over rice, noodles, or even eaten straight from the slow cooker.
Ingredients
2 lbs (900 g) boneless skinless chicken thighs
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional)
2 tbsp cornstarch
3 tbsp water
Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
Place chicken thighs in the slow cooker.
In a bowl, whisk together:
honey
soy sauce
ketchup
garlic
vinegar
sesame oil and ginger if using
Pour the sauce over the chicken.
Cover and cook:
LOW for 5–6 hours
or HIGH for 3–4 hours
Remove chicken and shred lightly or leave whole.
Mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Stir it into the sauce in the slow cooker.
Return chicken to the pot and cook another 15–20 minutes until the sauce becomes thick, glossy, and sticky.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
Serve With
Steamed rice
Noodles
Roasted broccoli
Stir-fried vegetables
Optional Add-Ins
Pineapple chunks for a sweet-tangy twist
Red pepper flakes for heat
Bell peppers added during the last hour
The sauce gets rich and caramelized as it cooks — exactly the kind of recipe people sneak bites of straight from the pot.
