Slow Cooker Pork Shoulder & Navy Beans
A smoky, hearty slow-cooker meal that tastes like classic backyard barbecue comfort food.
Ingredients
2–3 lbs bone-in pork shoulder
2 cans navy beans, drained and rinsed
1 large onion, sliced
1 cup barbecue sauce
1 can diced tomatoes (with juices)
Optional Extras
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and black pepper
A few dashes hot sauce
Instructions
Spread the drained navy beans in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Add sliced onion and diced tomatoes.
Place the pork shoulder on top.
Pour barbecue sauce over the pork.
Season if desired.
Cover and cook:
Low: 8–10 hours
High: 5–6 hours
Remove the bone, shred the pork with forks, and stir everything together.
