Simple Ginger Water Recipe
Ingredients
1 large piece fresh ginger root (about 5–7 cm / 2–3 inches)
1 liter (4 cups) water
Juice of 1 lemon (optional)
1–2 teaspoons honey (optional)
Instructions
Wash and peel the ginger.
Slice it thinly or grate it.
Bring the water to a boil.
Add the ginger and reduce heat.
Simmer for 10–15 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Strain into a pitcher or bottle.
Add lemon juice or honey if desired.
How to Drink
Serve warm or cold.
Many people drink 1 glass in the morning and another before meals.

Citrus Ginger Water
Add:

Mint leaves
Spiced Version
Add:
A pinch of cinnamon
A little turmeric
Tips
Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
If the flavor is too strong, dilute with more water.
