π₯© Slow Cooker Beef & Onion Gravy
π Ingredients
1β1.5 kg beef chuck roast (or stewing beef)
1 packet onion soup mix (or 2β3 sliced onions if homemade)
2 cups beef broth (or water + bouillon cube)
π¨βπ³ Optional (for extra flavor)
1β2 tbsp flour or cornstarch (to thicken gravy)
Salt & black pepper
2 tbsp butter
π³ Instructions
Prep the beef
Pat the beef dry and season lightly with salt and pepper (optional but recommended).
Add to slow cooker
Place beef in the slow cooker.
Sprinkle onion soup mix over the top.
Pour in beef broth around the meat.
Cook
Low: 8β10 hours
High: 4β6 hours
The beef should become very tender and fall apart easily.
Make gravy (optional but delicious)
Remove beef and shred it.
Mix 1β2 tbsp cornstarch with a little cold water.
Stir into the liquid in the slow cooker and cook 5β10 minutes until thickened.
Serve
Return beef to the gravy.
Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or bread.

If you want extra βmelt-in-your-mouthβ texture, add a small knob of butter halfway through cooking.
