๐๐ Chicken Teriyaki and Rice
Ingredients
2 chicken breasts (or 4 boneless chicken thighs), cut into bite-size pieces
2 cups cooked white rice
2 tablespoons oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional)
Teriyaki Sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons honey (or brown sugar)
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or lemon juice)
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons water (to mix with cornstarch)
Optional Garnish
Sesame seeds
Chopped green onions
Instructions
Cook rice and set aside.
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, water, and rice vinegar.
In another small bowl, mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water.
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add chicken pieces and cook for 6โ8 minutes until golden and fully cooked.
Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute.
Pour in the teriyaki sauce mixture and stir.
Add the cornstarch mixture and cook for 2โ3 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
Serve hot over rice.
Top with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
