Slow Cooker Smoked Pork Jowl

Slow Cooker Smoked Pork Jowl
A rich, comforting 4-ingredient meal that gets tender, savory, and full of flavor in the crockpot.
Ingredients
2–3 lbs smoked pork jowl (raw smoked)
1 large onion, sliced
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 cup chicken broth
Optional
Black pepper to taste
Mashed potatoes, rice, or cornbread for serving
Instructions
Place the sliced onion in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Lay the smoked pork jowl on top of the onions.
Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the meat.
Add the chicken broth around the sides.
Cover and cook:
LOW for 7–8 hours
or
HIGH for 4–5 hours
Once tender, shred slightly or serve in chunks with the gravy spooned over the top.
Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or with cornbread.
Tip
Since smoked pork jowl can be salty, taste before adding extra salt. Black pepper is usually enough.
