Easy Hamburger Potato Casserole 🍔🥔
A warm, cheesy comfort casserole perfect for an easy weeknight dinner!
Ingredients
500 g ground beef (hamburger meat)
4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
1 small onion, chopped
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken soup)
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Lightly grease a casserole dish.
In a skillet, heat olive oil and cook the chopped onion for 2–3 minutes.
Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
In a bowl, mix cream soup with milk until smooth.
Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the casserole dish.
Add half of the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
Pour some of the soup mixture on top and sprinkle with cheese.
Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef, soup mixture, and finish with the rest of the cheese.
Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until golden and potatoes are tender.
Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
