1 cup applesauce (unsweetened or lightly sweetened)
1 packet onion soup mix (or 1 tbsp onion powder + 1 tsp garlic powder + salt)
2 tbsp Dijon mustard (or regular mustard)
2 tbsp soy sauce
Optional: carrots and potatoes (for a full meal)

Prep the roast
Place the beef chuck roast into your slow cooker.
Make the sauce
In a bowl, mix together:
applesauce
onion soup mix
mustard
soy sauce
Combine
Pour the mixture evenly over the roast. Add carrots and potatoes around the meat if using.
Cook
Low: 8–9 hours
High: 4–5 hours
Cook until the meat is tender and easily pulls apart.
Serve
